Distinguished Co-operator Award Recipient
WHEREAS
Patricia Maclnnis has provided continuous service to Port Hood Cooperative since 1989, totaling more than thirty-six years of dedication to the co-operative movement. Beginning her career as a cashier and advancing to bookkeeper, she has supported the co-operative with steady commitment, accuracy, and a strong understanding of member needs and operations;
AND WHEREAS
Patricia has demonstrated adaptability and sound judgment through major operational transitions. Her work has helped maintain continuity in financial operations and has supported strength and resilience during periods of sector-wide change.
Beginning in a front-line role, she developed a deep understanding of member needs, operations, and governance, and her work has supported the co-operative’s ability to serve its members consistently over decades.
Through nearly four decades of service, Patricia has contributed directly to the economic stability and resilience of her rural community by supporting a locally owned co-operative that provides essential goods, services, and employment, helping to sustain a community based enterprise through both prosperous and challenging periods.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
That the Nova Scotia Co-operative Council, on behalf of all co-operatives and credit unions, express our gratitude and deep appreciation to Patricia Maclnnis for her contribution to the Nova Scotia co-operative movement by awarding her the 2026 Distinguished Cooperator Award and inducting her into the Distinguished Cooperator Hall of Fame.
